Parsley variety, that produces beautiful bright green and very curly leaves. It has a crisp texture and a softer and sweeter flavour than the variety of flat parsley. It is very resistant and can withstand a light frost. The seeds of this variety we offer are Organic.

This variety is also ornamental, for its beautiful leaves, both in the garden and in pots or in hanging pots. It is quite vigorous and uniform plant that it will give us abundant medium sized leaves.

Planting is from February to June, in a sunny place, but it tolerates partial shade. We can also sow in September if we do it in a greenhouse or in pots inside, because it needs a minimum of 15 ° C to germinate. We sow the seeds 1 cm deep in rows spaced 30 cm and we cover lightly with soil. In pots it is the same but trying to sow the seeds separated. We must keep the soil moist at all times.

We harvest at 10-12 weeks after sowing. We collect parsley when we need it for our dishes, if we harvest continuously, we will ensure that new leaves grow. We must cut the outer leaves, we cut part of the stem too, but always leaving at least 2 cm of stem on the plant to grow more leaves. When the flowers appear, we must remove them to keep producing leaves. Ideally the parsley are consumed fresh, but it can be let dry and stored in glass jars or soak in oil for dressings.

Parsley is one of the most popular herbs, especially in the Spanish kitchen. It is incredibly versatile because it can be used in all dishes: sauces, fish, meats, cheeses, salads, purees, soups, stews, omelets, in dressings and is one of the ingredients of pesto. You can also use it as a garnish for any dish, even it is used in some desserts. We can combine it with any other herb to get an incredible flavour.

Parsley is a source of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, iron and vitamins A, B and C. It has antioxidant, detoxifying, diuretic, anti-inflammatory and digestive properties. It helps to control hypertension, it improves osteoporosis and it strengthens the body's natural defenses. It improves the appearance of skin, nails and hair. It also has certain anesthetic power when it is used in a poultice with shocks and superficial wounds. Chewing fresh parsley is an excellent remedy against bad breath.

Like all herbs is a good ally with many plants to combat pests. It is highly recommended to plant with tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, asparagus, roses and other fragrant. It isn't advisable to plant it near the lettuce.

Parsley is native from the Mediterranean. The ancient Greeks offered it to Persephone, The Queen of the Underworld, decorating with him the dead's graves. There was also the superstition that only pregnant women and witches could grow parsley in certain moments in history.
