Beetroot is rich in potassium and folic acid, vitamin C and improves the immune system. They are used in stir-fries, baked, steamed, juices, salads or soups. This variety can be harvested as baby variety for salads or let mature. Its light green leaves are suitable for steaming, like spinach or used in mixed salads.

It is an easy to grow plant, as it is durable and also can be planted in pots (at least 20 cm to diameter). It has to plant between March and July. You should do it in rows, about 2 cm deep, put the seeds about 10 cm apart along the row and the rows separate 30 cm. You must ensure that the floor is always wet, because if the soil is dry, beetroots grow with a woody texture. Younger beetroots are sensitive to cold, so it must be protected or planted indoors if you want to do when frost can exist.

Equally, you had better collect all of them before starting the new frost. If you plant in several times you can store it to have beetroot almost all year, in sandboxes in a frost-free place.

It is highly recommended planting with onions, as protection from slugs, are also good companions garlic, cabbage, turnip, lettuce and leeks. You mustn't plant it with beans, lentils, spinach and chickpeas.
