Marketmore cucumber - untreated seeds

Sowing is from January to April indoors and from May outdoors. In a sunny location. Cucumber needs at least 21 degrees to germinate, it is better to sow first in seedbeds protected from the cold. We sow the seeds 1 cm deep. We can transplant to pots when the plant has its first leaves, but it is better to wait until the end of May to take them outside. Later, we can leave them in large pots or plant in the garden, always leaving a space of about 50 cm between plants. We should not plant different varieties of cucumber together, since they can be cross-pollinated and the fruits of all the plants would turn out bitter. We must always keep them very well watered, especially in times of drought and always in full sun. The cucumber plant is like a vine so it will need us to put a guide of 1.5 m approximately, in this way we can grow it in pots. We can also let the plant crawl along the ground, although we must leave a space of almost 2 m between plants, and when the fruits grow, put a support to prevent them from touching the ground, otherwise they will rot. When the plant reaches the top of the guide we must prune the tip, just by two leaves above the last flower there is, thus we favor the growth of more shoots that will produce more flower and fruit. If we have allowed the plant to crawl, we must also prune when the plant reaches one and a half meters.
