Scorzonera hispanica - untreated seeds
an ancient vegetable, which must be rediscovered for its fine flavor and great nutritional value. Scorsonera is a perennial to biennial plant whose fleshy black root is cooked and the young leaves are eaten in salads. Produces bright yellow flower heads in summer, borne at the end of slender stems.
