The Red Chive or Long Pink Onion from Florence (Lunga di Fierence) is a very old traditional European variety, pink / reddish in color, elongated and about 10 cm long. Its flavor is sweet and smooth and its meat is tender. It is sown in fall and winter to harvest in spring and summer. Harvested as a spring onion, it is delicious in salads and sandwiches.
